What is Live@edu ?

Did you know that you as a student can now have a new access on many free software from Microsoft? Did you know that you can share your documents with your colleges freely? Did you know that you now have a new ID (email address) related to your university? Did you know that you have a chance to win a laptop or a Windows mobile device?

Live@edu is a program that Microsoft released to help students with their study. Students now can share whatever they have with each others and with their instructors, which saves time and increases efficiency!

Yarmouk University is one of the most active users of Live@edu in Jordan, which attracted Microsoft to come and show students what they can do with their new IDs, and announce the winners with a big awesome prizes. On March 21, a very big crowd appeared in the right time and place, Dr.Sameh Ghawanmeh started the event with his speech, welcoming the president of Yarmouk university, Rula Ammouri (The manager of Microsoft Jordan) and other well-known employees like Mohammed Arrabi, Nadin Haddad (The Live@edu prgram manager), Ruba Jarrar, Maher Khayyat and Mohammed Helal.

Sharepoint Saturday in Jordan

For the very first time Sharepoint Saturday happens in Jordan, Princess Sumaya University for Technology hosted this international event, very well-known speakers attended too, Joel Oleson, Michael Noel from the USA and Mohamed Saleh, Muhanad Omar from Jordan Devosis, Soud Ereiqat from AvePoint and Tamer Nassrawin.

Mohammad Saleh started the introduction to SharePoint 2010 for developers, as a beginner to SharePoint, you would have learned a lot, he showed many demos and did a great show up there. Then, Michael Noel talked about the SharePoint 2010 Architecture Fundamentals which was interesting, he mentioned SharePoint 2007 vs. SharePoint 2010 Virtualization and Scalability. After that, Soud Ereiqat who came from London presented the Protecting and Optimizing SharePoint 2010, there were many questions popping from the audience, I believe they did learn many new things in SharePoint 2010.

Yarmouk University .Net club did attend too for sure, we were one of the Jordan universities that covered this event in photos and videos.

YU 065 On February 24, 2010 at 12:30 PM We "Yarmouk Univesity .net club" planned to gather the members together for presenting what they requested. The Yarmouk university MSP "Mohammad Arafat Yasein" was the speaker of this meeting, he did a great presentation I believe, talking about the club & it's projects was affective to the members, he also mentioned the chance that every student has from Microsoft Dreamspark to download 7 to 10 free software like Visual Studio 2010, Windows server 2008 & SQL server Express.
